Container Scams are Everywhere!

Be aware of non-local phone numbers and non-face to face transactions

If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers that imitate legitimate businesses to scam buyers. On a several thousand-dollar purchase, every dollar matters, and the scammers know it. If you see containers at a fraction of my advertised prices, there is a very good chance it is a scam. There are dozens of containers listed on craigslist and marketplace for less than the wholesale cost. These are bogus listings. The wholesale container market is consistent in each locality which means most legitimate sellers will be in the same ballpark on total price (container + delivery + sales tax).

Real businesses do not require that you purchase insurance or wire money sight unseen to a bank in another state.

If you are told you are dealing with Conex Solutions but speak to anyone at a number other than 719-433-9653 than it is a scam. I try to meet all of my buyers in person prior to selling a container.

Another indication of a scam is generic pictures. A picture of a container at a depot with stacks of containers in the background should say it all. Or if the picture contains lush green Florida grass and palm trees but is marketed in Colorado it is from a scammer. Also, pictures of trucks and trailers conveniently taken to avoid license plates or business names is also an indication of a scammer. When in doubt always call a local number and request to see the container in person.
